If you ask her what her favorite book is. Although she is not an independent reader, she thinks she is reading when she "reads" this book.
Every chance she gets she wants to "read" it. My daughter knows the verses very well.
My daughter loved this book ever since I brought it home from the bookstore and we read it that first time. I gave it five stars because my daughter can't put this book down.
If I'm reading with her, she doesn't give me the time to finish reading one part before she says "silly sally went to town." If your child has a hard time focusing and needs bright colorfull pictures and a catchy rhyming phrase, "THIS" is the book. Soon your child will be "reading" the book.
It makes her feel good. she says "Silly Sally." As a matter of fact this is one of my favorite books to read with her.
My 4-year-old granddaughter loves this book. The words are so catchy and funny, that after reading it to her a few times, she could "read" it back to me. She loves it.
This is a fun book that all kids would enjoy. It is very rythmic and well written. It also is has great illistrations but the best review of all is that our girl (3 years old) loves this book.
My daughter is 3 and absolutely LOVES this book. It's "silly" and catchy which is right on target for a toddler. Because of the repetition, she can "read" this on her own. I highly recommend it.
"Silly Sally" is one of those especially-for-fun books that are really great to read to pre-schoolers. The love and bonding between adult and child and child and book that happens when reading and talking about good books is magic. And, the word play is an invaluable pre-reading skill that will enhance learning to read. Have fun with this story--no one needs to know you are "teaching." Older children also love the rhythm and rhyme and enjoy this story.
